Spice up Your Life with your Sacral Chakra

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Your sacral chakra is like a little ‘happy button’ situated about two inches or so below your navel. Its alternative name is Svadisthana. It is associated with joy, creativity and enthusiasm. Having a good energy flow through your sacral chakra will enable you to have a fulfilled and happy sex life too. That is certainly a good reason to work on getting the flow through this chakra.

The Mood Chakra

The sacral chakra is associated with the emotions such as sexual appetite and creativity. An imbalance in this chakra puts your emotions into turmoil and sexual dysfunction. Dealing with an imbalance here can be a way of letting go of control issues and feeling free as a result.

Recognizing the Truth

Liking yourself is sometimes easier said than done, but it is vital to a balance in this chakra. You need to build a good self-image and improve your self-confidence.

That often begins with some quite tough self-awareness, as you learn to recognize and value your feelings. Don’t let your emotions control you; see if you can step outside of yourself a little and understand how you feel and what has caused these feelings.

Balancing your Sacral Chakra

Color breathing is one of the most effective ways of balancing the energy in this chakra. To do this, you need to focus your attention on the spot about two inches below your navel, where you will find your sacral chakra. There you should visualize a warm, deep orange glow, as this is the color associated with this particular chakra. Exercises such as hip rolls and pelvic thrusts will also help to free up your sacral chakra energy.

Take deep breaths, seeing yourself pulling the deep orange glow into your lungs. Imagine the glow being pulled into your body and gently released back to the universe each time you breathe out. As you do this, feel the freedom of being able to move around comfortably in the warm glow, not weighed down by anything. You should feel a renewal of your emotional connection to the universe.

This ability to let go will aid your relationships as you won’t feel guilt, or the need to blame that ruins so many relationships. You will be able to move on from past hurts and find love and satisfaction once more.

Lack of motivation is a common problem that people have for different reasons. Often, the root issue is a lack of self-confidence. Emotions and getting motivated

Sometimes people endure emotional unrest and it stops them from doing the things that they need to do or want to do. If you take the time to explore your emotions and become more aware of them, you can begin to get to the bottom of what is troubling you. Dealing with deep emotions is a process that you may need help with, but you should take the time to do what it takes to be free and get motivated to live a good life.

Learning to control your emotions, as opposed to letting them control you, is an important part of enhancing your sacral chakra energy. Pay attention to patterns in your emotions and note how you might handle them better. You have the power to focus your emotional energy towards positive and productive activity. For example, if something makes you angry, you can exercise or work on a creative project instead of yelling or getting violent.

You can use your emotions to motivate yourself to reach your goals.

Channel your energy to bring balance to your sacral chakra. Build your self esteem, and don’t let your emotions stop you from doing the things that you need or want to do. Get motivated!

The Sacral Chakra

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

The sacral chakra, also called the second chakra, is found just beneath the belly button. Modern systems associate this point with the color orange, and it functions as your subtle center of emotions.

There is another chakra very close to this one, and often martial artists refer to the area as the “one point”. Many argue that one point is a frame of mind, and to relate it to an exact physical location is a misnomer.

The point is (no pun intended) that the sacral area is the focus of much subtle energy technology. If you relax your body and put your awareness in the area just below your belly button you will most likely begin to feel the sacral chakra as a warm point of energy.

Joy, inspiration, and creativity are said to be at their strongest when the sacral chakra is flowing freely. Meditation and breathing exercises that empower this chakra often leave you feeling exhilerated on an emotional level.

The sacral chakra is aligned with the water element, indicating flexibility and flow. A good, informal way to experience and strengthen this chakra is any form of stretching that works the hips and inner thighs, especially in low stances and postures. Perhaps even more important than the physical specifics is the mindset of flexibility and going with whatever comes.

Mental and emotional flexibility are extremely important to total wellbeing, and the practice of these will lead you to an initial understanding of your second chakra.
